Name It and Claim It

I saw a Facebook post I couldn’t let go unanswered.  A guy said:

“Why are some people blessed with over-abundance, while others have nothing? … When we have more than we need, it does not really belong to us… If you see that God has blessed you with more than you need for yourself, know that this is not what you deserve, but rather what someone else needs…”

Words fail me. Seriously? I mean, really? This is a limitless, abundant, more-than-enough-for-everybody Universe, and it’s done to each one as he or she believes. Lack and poverty have some very deep underlying causes and when someone is experiencing those things, it’s up to us to share, yes, but it’s ALSO more incumbent upon us to help them with the spiritual causes that put them in that situation in the first place.

As a New Thought metaphysician, I am steeped in the belief that Deity and I are ONE, and not separate.  Thus, I don’t need to be blessed by God. I’m blessed *because* I’m God walking around in a Rev. Jeff suit. Yes, God is expressing in me, through me, as me.  All the attributes of God are MY attributes as well.  The same goes for you, too.  Remember that from the very beginning of Creation we were “made in Our image, after Our likeness.”  That’s God talking, folks.  I read that to mean that everything God is in actuality is what I am in potential.  I can express that potential.  I can experience and manifest God’s attributes and enjoy them whenever I remember that they’re mine, now and forever and always. I don’t need to attract anything into my life because anything I could attract is made of the same God stuff I am, and is already a part of me on some level. What I need to do to bring those latent potentials into material form is to remember that I’m one with those things.  That’s all you need to do, as well.

We don’t denigrate the wealthy for being wealthy. You want a sure-fire way of remaining in poverty? Bad mouth rich people.  Talk about their filthy lucre and how they don’t deserve to have so much while others have so little. You’ll never see prosperity and financial abundance move so fast to get out of your life. The same goes for love, and health, and anything else you can think of.

When you see someone who has something you’d like in your own life, claim it as your own. There’s more than enough in this Universe for everyone. You can have, do or be ANYTHING you desire in this life, because the potential for it all…ALL… lies within you. It starts in your mind, and in your attitudes. “As above, so below,” as the ancients said.  Jesus said it all over the Gospels.  Even the Buddha taught it.

I guess I live in an entirely different Universe than some people do. They look around and see people wallowing in despair and not-enoughness. I look around and see all kinds of wasted potential. My job is to point out that potential and show people they can reach it and how they can do it. If I wanted to pity people and keep them trapped in their stuff, I’d move into the “Not Enough Universe.” Frankly, I think I’ll stay where I am.  It’s a better neighborhood.

Much love and many blessings,

Rev. Jeff
